Popis: | An automated apparatus for the measurement of laser optical absorption is described. This device was designed for state of the art sensitivity along with computer controlled data collection and analysis. A sample carousel was incorporated in the calorimeter to improve sample throughput by reducing the number of vacuum breaks. The calorimeter has been used with various laser sources ranging in wavelength from 1.319–0.351 μm. Parts with total absorptions as low as 20 parts per million have been measured with a reproducibility of 10%. The system was calibrated using a photometric technique with an absorption accuracy of 5%. |
