Popis: Blood from grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella), ranging in size between 50 and 450 g, was prepared for flow cytometry with fewer steps than have previously been recorded. Two hundred fifty ploidy determinations have been made in 2 h by a two-person team with much less effort than had previously been the norm. This technique compares favorably in efficiency to and is reportedly more accurate than the Coulter counter because of the direct measurement of blood DNA content.
