Popis:	The influence of complexation on ligand vibrational frequencies are studied in terms of the kinematic effect. Three linear models, M ⋯ A—B, B—A ⋯ A—B and B—A ⋯ M ⋯ A—B, are analysed theoretically. Numerical computations are reported for the halogen cyanides, cyanogen and mercury(II)cyanide.
