Popis: | High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, plasma levels of the triglyceride (TG)-rich lipoproteins and the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) are interrelated. There exists a strong negative association between levels of HDL cholesterol and CHD risk, a weaker positive relation between TGs and CHD risk, and a strong inverse association between plasma levels of HDL and of the TG-rich lipoproteins. When HDL cholesterol TGs and CHD risk are considered together, the status of each in the triad becomes less clear. |
