Popis: | Change is hard. We can have little doubt that to survive in the twenty-first century, students need different skills from those touted by eighteenth-century educational wisdom. Over and over, in national reports, legislative mandates, edicts from school boards, concerns of parents, messages from principals, and discussions in the teachers' lounge. we address how schools are failing in so many ways to meet the needs of all our students. Mathematics and science, in particular, are the content areas most often cited as the sieves for separating and isolating students, where the haves experience meaningful mathematics and the have-nots experience boring, repetitive, and meaningless mathematics. |
