Popis: | Scientists about their programming practices, and the extent to which they adhere to six common best practices. We argue that these practices are essential to the core scientific value of reproducibility. Our results indicate that many of these practices are not followed because of barriers such as low self-efficacy and misaligned incentive structures. We conclude with suggested improvements to the tooling, education, and incentives of scientific programmers. |
