Popis:	Cilia and flagella are equipped with multiple dyneins that constitute outer and inner dynein arms on the nine outer doublet microtubules. These dyneins cooperate in force generation, which results in localized sliding of outer doublets and oscillatory bending of the axoneme. This chapter summarizes current knowledge on the function of axonemal dyneins based on findings from Chlamydomonas , a model organism for cilia/flagella studies.
