By the measurement of electrical conductivity information may be obtained about the structure and properties of residual petroleum products, in spite of the presence in the latter of conducting impurities. 2. 2. Using electrical conductivity rheological properties or tar oil and bitumen may be evaluated, structural transitions examined and the degree of ordering of the system and the degree of oxidation, controlled.
