This paper analyzes aspects of the routine of trips to and from school in countryside spaces. The data are result of interinstitutional investigations developed in rural settlementslocated in Mato Grosso do SulState, Brazil, collected by means of participant observation, as well as from testimonials from the children and from imagerecords. The study, based upon the Sociology of Childhood, unveils the resistance mechanisms developed by the countryside children, by means of the pairwork culture, in order to minimize the difficulties and face thetime taken from home to school andfrom school to home, during the journeys on the school bus. The discussion reveals that the children, with playing and other languages, re-construct their social positions in face ofthe rules imposed by the adults. It also points out that the socialization moments during the school-home-school journeys allowsthe re-construction of rules and interactions and help on the social construction of what it is to be a boy or a girl in the spaces of agrarian reformation. |
