Popis: Casual games have become a widespread activity that fills our leisure time. This article introduces to the phenomenon casual games –their definition and the history. Furthermore the article presentsand discusses the experience of and engagement or immersion inplaying these games as it is put forward by recent research. Thetheoretical approach is based on media psychology, phenomenology and reversal theory. Finally it is argued that playing casualgames is fundamental pleasurable to both paratelic as well as telicmetamotivational states.
