Popis: The Transfer of knowledge Through Expatriate Nationals (TOKEN), as a tool for infusion of need-based knowledge and expertise from abroad, has benefited developing countries the world over. The article presents the significant featues of the TOKEN-a UNDP-Government of India Umbrella Project. The factors that contributed to the success of the project are pinepointed. One wonders, why the TOKEN-India programme, and its subsequent UNDP Government of India Umbrella Project, were wound up in June 2001, after 20 years. Revival of the project with design for subsequent see4ms to emerge as the top recommendendation of dozens of formal and informal round table meetings and workshops held especially during the twilight years of the project. That was also the message conveyed by the Expatriate Nationals. The questionnaire survey vindicated the conclusion.
