Popis: | Gentamicin is an important member of the aminoglycoside class of antibiotics having broader spectrum with extend to ototoxicity and nephrotoxcity. A reliable and accurate high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) procedure was established using Agilent Zorbax Eclipse plus phenyl hexyl C18 (4.6 × 250 mm, 5 μm) column and UV detection at 330 nm. Recovery of gentamicin from biological and pharmaceutical samples was more than 95-98% after spiking the drug. The sensitivity of method is predicted by calculating a lower level of the limit of detection and lower limit of quantification (0.286 and 0.867 μg/mL, respectively. The procedure was used to quantify gentamicin in biological fluids and pharmaceuticals dosage form. |
