Popis: | Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have attracted as a highly efficient energy conversion devices. The operating of SOFC system under high fuel utilization is preferable from the standpoint of efficiency. However, the anode degradation proceeds readily under high fuel utilization conditions, especially at the downstream part of the anode. This is because the anode is exposed to the severe conditions due to the depletion of fuel and high steam concentration. Thus, the agglomeration, coarsening and oxidation of nickel will lead to the performance deterioration during long-term operation when the nickel-based cermet is applied as an anode. Although the wettability analysis is one of the methods to clarify the agglomeration mechanism, there have been no sufficient studies on the application to solid metal/oxide interfaces. In this study, then, the interfacial properties of Ni/oxide were quantitatively evaluated by determining the contact angle of nickel particles on oxide substrates at the operating temperature of SOFCs. |
