The hospital technology management is one of the clinical engineering functions and is defined as the set of procedures undertaken for the acquisition, installation and use of biomedical technologies to ensure its operation with maximum quality and safety performance with effective costs. From its definition, technology management includes a number of procedures with a systemic approach, which tends to accomplish the goals, within which we can mention the evaluation process, valuation and acquisition of biomedical technology. In this paper we present a methodology to evaluate biomedical technology, the one was obtained from a bibliographic review of models and evaluation protocols in a national and international level, among which are two methodologies applied in two institutions which provide health services of third level of care and in the fourth level of complexity in Valle del Cauca by students of the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente, having economic, technical and clinical criteria. The validation was done with a sample of 51 medical equipments from two institutions, and the results will be discussed later. |
