Summary Kikuchi's histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis is a clinicopathological entity characterized by cervical lymph node involvement in young women, usually associated with pyrexia. Lymphadenopathy is seldom occult and the clinical symptom is a fever of unknown origin. The authors report two illustrative cases of Kikuchi's disease. The etiology of this disease remains unknown. Physicians and pathologists need to be aware of this. Kikuchi's disease should be added to the list of potential causes of lymphadenopathy and fever of unknown origin. |
