Popis: The technical services of the city of Paris were concerned with a very small-scale air pollution problem: the contamination of the air conditioning system of a public building from an outdoor source. In order to better understand which source was causing these episodes, a study was undertaken to evaluate the contribution of an underground parking lot exhaust system. The outlet of the system is located on the roof of the public building. The aim of the study was a quantitative estimation of the pollution transfer between the ventilation system and a fresh air inlet located about 50 m away. The MERCURE CFD code is described. Assumptions concerning meteorological choices and source term evaluation are discussed. Results of the study are described. Thermal effects of air conditioning units installed on the same roof are also simulated and discussed.
