The authors presented an approach to teaching foreign language monolog speech to students in multi-level groups, including numerous ones. These skills acquire particular relevance within the professional teachers’ training context: later on they teach speaking skills to their ESL students. The approach is based on video lectures hosted by TED, which are used as reference texts for students to build their own monologs. The authors outlined the principles and presented the algorithm of work. The important components are listening to the lecture (exposure to example) and redoing the speaking. |
