Popis: | User experience (UX) has become the main key to support project development to improve user understanding in many contexts. Distinctly, in education, teachers make a strong e ort to monitor the learning process by using manual methods like questionnaires. However, the observation of UX is challenging as data needs to be captured in real-time to have a more clear student’s response during the interaction. This article shows an architecture that seeks to monitor and visualize the UX of learning in an educational context in real-time. The architecture, E-catcher, is composed of 4 components: the information gathering, the process, the results, and the monitoring learning. Moreover, the article also shows the creation of a prototype based on our architecture. This prototype is designed as a web application. It uses a facial recognition API and it analyzes emotions, age and gender through detected facial photos. This prototype was tested in a promising experiment. It involved an educational robotics workshop for children by using the Lego Wedo platform. The results showed that it is feasible to observe and visualize user data as emotions, age, and gender in an educational context in real-time by using E-catcher. |
