The effect of displacement cascade on Y2Ti2O7 and Gd2Zr2O7 pyrochlores is studied using molecular dynamics simulations. A vast statistics of displacement cascades is generated and the damage is characterized using complementary techniques. It is shown that pyrochlores are in general quite resistant to radiation damage. Gd2Zr2O7 is seen to be having a higher amorphization resistance as compared to Y2Ti2O7. |
