Popis: Chapter 2 presents our experimental design, which is similar to many other traditional tax compliance experiments. We chose to use an incentivized real-effort task, meaning that subjects earned money for completing a task. We then asked them to report their earnings for tax purposes. We then manipulated the experimental parameters in order to test how different individuals would react to different incentives and disincentives. There were three stages to the experiment. The first was a traditional tax compliance experiment in which we varied the redistribution, tax rates, and tax regime. Second, the subjects took in a Social Value Orientation experiment, which measured levels of altruism. Lastly, they were given a survey in which they were asked questions regarding their attitudes regarding various public policies, their perceptions of other’s behavior and a series of demographic questions as well.
