Popis: 1. The hydrodynamics and mass transfer in a ring-shaped jet plate of 300 mm diameter have been studied in a pilot unit in which CO2 was desorbed from water with air, while the gas velocity was varied from 0.6 to 3.5 m/sec. 2. The plate has a low interphase resistance at high gas velocities. The measured values of the plate efficiency and the mass transfer coefficient are high, and nearly constant over a broad range of gas velocities at various liquid velocities. No entrainment of jets occurs at high gas velocities. 3. Our results suggest that the ring-shaped jet plate may be recommended for use in tests in oil refinery columns where a high output is required and the hydraulic resistance of the plate has no practical importance.
