A decision support system to manage commercial peanut drying facilities was developed.Empirical equations to predict peanut drying time, moisture content during the drying process, and timeremaining on the dryer were incorporated. Using kernel moisture content instead of pod moisture contentas required in the original simulation model had minimal impact on predicted drying time. Comparison ofpredicted drying time and actual drying times are discussed. |
