Popis:	This article describes a strategy for blending the intermittently spaced precipitation estimates from various passive microwave sensors onboard low-Earth orbiting meteorological satellites with the observations from rapid time-update coincident geostationary-based visible and infrared imagers. Validation datasets are presented which demonstrate the perfor- mance of the technique at 3-hourly time scales, and its capability to capture regional diurnal cycles of precipitation.
