This work presents a laboratory set up at the University of Alabama in Huntsville designed to give students experience using real-world Ultra Wideband (UWB) devices to improve their understanding of signal analysis and signal processing concepts. In addition to improving their knowledge of signal processing, students are also introduced to radar topics. Several laboratory experiments are presented, as well as two senior design projects that use the UWB devices. Student assessment shows an increased understanding of signal processing as well as enthusiasm in senior electives in the signals and systems area. |
