Popis: The use of plants as traditional medicine is widely used in Indonesia society, especially in rural areas that still have plenty of plant varieties. The plants that have been used empirically and investigated to have potential efficacy as traditional medicine are MoringaoleiferaL.andCassia alata L. Leaves Extracts of Moringaoleifera L and Cassia alataL. contain several bioactive compounds and have high antioxidant activity. However, bioactive compounds of those leaves extract have low solubility in water. Hence, to be formulated into Self-Nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) is one of the solutions to increase the extract solubility. SNEDDS formulation of the extracts is not only can increase solubility but also bioavailability of the extract, so effectiveness of therapy is improved. Results showed that SNEDDS of MoringaoleiferaL.and Cassia alataL.leaves Extracts that used corn oil as oil phase, tween 80 as surfactant, and propylene glycol as the co-surfactant provided nanoemulsion with good characteristics. Emulsification time of Moringaoleifera L. and Cassia alata L. SNEDDS in Artificial Gastric Fluid (AGF) media were from 17 to 48 seconds and from 7 to 19 seconds; % transmittance ranges were from 89.40 to 90.09% and from 84.85 to 88.30%; particles size in the optimum formula were 10.7 nm and 20.2 nm; polydisperse index values were 0.012 and 0.447; and zeta potential values were -5.0 mV and -3.9 mV respectively. It can be concluded that MoringaoleiferaL.and Cassia alata L. leaves Extracts can be formulated into SNEDDS.
