Popis: The antigen used was in all cases eggwhite in a 50% solution. The rabbits were sensitized by 4 to 7 intraperitoneal and intravenous injections of 3 to 5 cc. of 50% eggwhite given at intervals of 2 days. The shocking dose was administered 17 to 21 days after the last sensitizing injection. As a rule 3 cc. given intravenously caused lethal shock and in some cases 1 cc. given intravenously caused death with the usual symptoms of anaphylactic shock. In all experiments except those in which the rabbits were shocked by intraperitoneal injection, normal animals were given identical doses of eggwhite and blood was taken for study as in the case of the sensitized and shocked animals.
