Popis: | A moving node must have an identifier to be recognized by networks devices when it moves between access points (APs). Traditional networks route and forward data traffic based on this identifier. The IP address is the most common standardized identifier for a mobile node (MN) in communication systems. An MN should acquire an IP address belongs to the attached AP when it wants to connect it. Hence, a new address mapping should be done by the network devices to forward data packets. This process causes loss of connection continuity, data packets, and increase processing delay. In this paper, we provide a novel MN’s tag, which can be used by software-defined networking (SDN) networks as a non-standard identifier for routing and forwarding data traffic on the SDN network paradigms. The MN tag is generated by a logical process that includes the subscriber identity module (SIM) card number and the media access control (MAC) address. Moreover, our proposed approach is to direct the data packets based on the generated tag, which is used by network devices as an identifier for an MN. The results show that SDN networks outperform conventional systems in maintaining continuity of connection and reducing the processing delay time of incoming data to the network. Also, the suggested approach enhanced the performance of the SDN network by utilizing the generated tag instead of the IP address to forwarding packets. Consequently, this leads to the moving node can keep the continuity of its connection when it moves among APs of attached network with a minimum delay time to steering the data flow to the target MN. |
