Popis: The Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) was one of the Brazilian institutions that partially adopted a new university architecture, the cycle system and the interdisciplinary baccalaureate. Since then, several studies have been developed to follow up the implementation and operation of this curricular innovation at the university. The present investigation aimed to understand the difficulties faced by students throughout their schooling at the Interdisciplinary Bachelor of Health (IBH). The qualitative method was chosen for this investigation because focus on social processes and, thus, allows capturing the meanings attributed by students to the university experience. Narrative interviews were conducted with 14 IBH students about the schooling trajectory of the first cycle, from these student narratives, the excerpts in which the students pointed out the challenges experienced were rescued. For organization and assistance in the analysis of thematic categorical content, the Open Logos Software was used, which allowed a cross-sectional analysis of the interviews through coding and later categorization. The results were organized into three categories: the first deals with the relations between IBH students, which is marked by competitiveness and by not building bonds, another difficulty mentioned by the students is the lack of pedagogical support, absence of concentration areas and components curriculum in the night shift. Finally, the last category portrays the prejudices and constraints that IBH students face in the conservative spaces of the university. We concluded that it is necessary to propose a pedagogical assistance to the students without falling into the tutelage of the student, as well as seeking the central instances of the university to curb the situations of prejudice and embarrassment experienced by the students in order to preserve the pedagogical and democratic environment in that universities must live.
