Popis: | Dynorphin A and related peptides have been implicated in the neuropathology of spinal cord injury by a mechanism that may involve an interaction with the NMDA receptor-channel complex. Using radioligand binding and electrophysiological techniques, the present study has investigated the possible post-synaptic interaction between dynorphin (dyn) peptides and the MK-801 related channel site of the NMDA complex in rat brain and spinal cord. Dyn fragments (0.01-10 μM) produced a partial inhibition (45-75%) of [ 3 H]MK-801 binding to cerebral cortex membranes with slope values significantly greater than unity (-1.2 to -2.2) |
