Fine Structural Features of Swollen and Stretched Normal Viscose Rayon Filaments

Popis: | X-ray orientation factor, crystallinity, crystallite dimensions and birefringence were determined on commercially available normal rayon filaments before and after treat ment. The filaments were swelled in sodium hydroxide (21% W/W), stretched to levels up to 55% over the initial length, and the alkali was neutralized with acetic acid (5-10%) while the filaments were still under tension. Considerable improvement in lateral and longitudinal order resulted from stretch, as evidenced by higher values of fine structural characteristics. |
