This article discusses the correspondence between Virginia Woolf and Lytton Strachey from the Frances Hooper Collection of Virginia Woolf Books and Manuscripts, housed in the Mortimer Rare Book Room, Smith College. Some of the quotations in this article are published for the first time. Physical and intellectual content of the letters are reviewed, highlighted by the lives of VirginiaWoolf and Lytton Strachey. Biographical information about the collector Frances Hooper is included as well as a list of her collection. |
