Popis: In a previous study, we have shown that a high Na-low K (Na = 125, K = 30mmol/L) version of Belzer UW cold-storage solution (Na-UW) seemed to be more effective than high K-low Na (K = 125, Na = 30mmol/L) UW (K-UW) in the isolated perfused rat kidney model. In order to corroborate these results, we performed isogenic kidney transplantation in Brown Norway rats. The donor kidneys were flushed with 5 ml of either K-UW (n = 8) or Na-UW (n = 11) and stored for 24 h at 4°C prior to transplantation. In each case, the kidney graft was transplanted in the right iliac fossa, the recipient’s right kidney was removed and the native contralateral kidney was left in place. Ten days after transplantation separate kidney function was performed after bilateral ureteral catheterization. GFR (inulin clearance) and endogenous creatinine clearance (Ccreat) was measured during 60 min. Separate kidney function measurement was performed in control rats (n = 4). Results were as follows (mean ± SEM): Control K-UW Na-UW Right Left Transplanted Native Transplanted Native Urinary flow rate (μl/min/100g) 15.2±2.6 12.8±0.8 2.8±0.4ab 25.6±4.6a 19.0±3.0bc 30.7±6.2a GFR (μl/min/100g) 82±9 106±8 14±6ab 242±36a 102±28bc 191±18a Ccreat (μl/min/100g) 88±11 89±11 14±4ab 236±29a 83±23bc 173±17a a: p
