Protective properties of the receptor domain of anthrax exotoxin protective antigen depend from the orientation of its presentation on nanoparticles

Popis: | Polystyrene nanoparticles carrying on their surface recombinant proteins of the receptor domain of anthrax exotoxin protective antigen presented in different orientations were constructed. In vivo testing demonstrated that the particles with an exposed COOH region of the receptor domain displayed the highest protective properties (95%) in a mouse anthrax model. It was shown that immunization with such particles induced a specific Th1 response with increased levels of the cytokines TNF-α and IL-2. |
