A form containing demographic characteristics of participants and Kogan's Attitudes toward Old PeopleScale(KAOPS) wereused togather therequireddata.Thedatawereanalyzedusingdescriptivestatistics, t-test and ANOVA. Results:Nursing students in this study reported neutral attitudes (121.52±12.63) compared to positive attitudes of Western nursing students in previous studies. Nine out of 17 negative items had higher mean scoresthanpositive items. Statisticallysignificant differences werefoundassociated with experience feel- ing of livingwithelderlypeopleand carefor elderlypeople. Conclusion:Theresultsof thisstudysuggest thatnurs- ing education should be directed at changingnursing students' attitudes toward older people. Experience of ex- posure to well-older people may behelpful topromote nursing students' positive attitudestoward elderlypeople. There is a need tofurther test the validityand reliability of the KAOPS for use with various populations in Korea.
