Popis: COPA was commissioned by LM-JV to carry out historic building and setting recording prior to the partial demolition of a group of buildings at Middleton House Farm, situated c.150m east of the course of Tamworth Road, Middleton, Warwickshire. This work was undertaken in accordance with a Location Specific Written Scheme of Investigation (LS-WSI) (Doc. No.1EW04-LMJ-EV-MST-NS05_NL14-029002) and a Project Plan (Doc. no: 1EW04-LMJ_DJV-EV-PLN-NS05_NL14-029004). COPA carried out an external and internal photographic survey of the buildings and their immediate setting. The building recording addresses a group on non-designated buildings which date from the late 18th to early 19th century and are situated within an isolated position, accessed by a track leading eastwards from the course of Tamworth Road The buildings investigated within this current project comprise a total of seven structures which form part of Middleton House Farm. The majority of the buildings form part of a Ushaped farmstead which is thought to date from the mid to late 19th century, with the farmhouse possibly being of late 18th/ early 19th century date. The farmstead is situated in an agricultural setting towards the southern extent of the parish of Middleton. The farmstead is within closest proximity of the Manor of Moxhull to which the land, on which the farm is situated, belonged. The land within the Site does not appear to have formed part of the Middleton Estate, the focus of which was Middleton Hall further to the north.
