Popis: The correct diagnosis of the epileptic patient must establish the type of seizures according to the 1981 ILAE ICES, and the epileptic syndrome according to the 1989 ILAE ICE. Some children, at the onset of epilepsy, are difficult to classify. These are the reasons which can cause the diagnostic problems: 1. Misdiagnosis as epilepsy the non-epileptic seizures. 2. Misclassifying the type of seizures for incomplete or inadequate information. 3. Misclassifying the type of epileptic syndromes due to overlapping of different syndromes or because the patient presents more than one syndrome at the same time or during the course of the illness. It follows from this that it is not easy to classify all cases of epilepsy. The 'forced' as inadequate classification can give rise to a therapeutic or prognostic misdiagnosis.
