Popis: Archaeological evaluation (five trial-trenches) carried out as specified in the project brief and wsi. An archaeological evaluation (five trial-trenches) was carried out on land to the south of 'High Bank', Melford Road, Sudbury, Suffolk in advance of the construction of five new residential dwellings. The site is located within an archaeologically-sensitive area, on the edge of the historic settlement of Sudbury and south of the historic village of Long Melford. The evaluation revealed five ditches, five pits/tree-throws and a post-hole. Most of the features were undated with only two finds recovered, a piece of post-medieval peg-tile from the post-hole and an undatable fragment of iron nail from one of the pits/tree-throws.
