| Popis: | Animal welfare is a global matter. As such, it calls for global measures and effective answers within international law. There have already been various proposals for international declarations on the protection of animals. However, until now there is no comprehensive protection of nonhuman animals in international law. In order to fill this gap, a legal plan for the protection of animals worldwide seems to be necessary. This article examines these issues and comes forward with concrete suggestions. One suggestions, for instance, is the formation of a specific UN institution and the adoption of a UN Convention for globally protecting animals. |
