Popis: The modelling of operator errors has been discussed in several contexts and also in various benchmark studies. The estimates of operator error probabilities have differed from each other several orders of magnitude depending on the modelling approach. In this paper, reasons for this phenomenon are discussed. Furthermore, the application of an approach based on influence diagrams in estimation of error probabilities is presented. The use of influence diagrams proved to be an effective tool in the modelling and the identification of the major uncertainties. However, some problems concerning data uncertainty discussed in the text still remain unresolved.
