Popis: This paper presents a position and velocity measurement method for a moving object as a function of time, based on the use of Infrared camera. Our approach consists of marking the moving object by four Infra-Red sources and calculating its position using the pixels coordinates of the luminous spots sent by the IR camera. In fact the distance between the luminous marks being constant, the variation of the number of pixels corresponding to the distance between them during the mobile displacement allow us to calculate its position. Data acquisition and modeling are done through the MicroLabExAO acquisition interface. The position and velocity sensor so prepared allows students to study the concepts related to kinematic movements accurately within the range of 0–150 cm.
