Popis: Personal information managers (PIMs) are computer programs that handle scheduling, keep address books updated, and organize all types of information. Some programs allow customization, and some are rigidly programmed; some are Windows-based, and some are DOS-based. The article, the second in a three-part series on personal computers, compares various PIMs to introduce laboratorians to these programs. It alerts them to the nuances in features and benefits among them and reviews some of their applications.
