Popis: The literature on psychology offers a number of different definitions of anxiety. Most researchers agree that the concept has to be looked at in a differentiated manner, as a situational phenomenon and as a personal characteristic, taking account of the dynamics of its transitional state. A.M. Prikhozhan writes that anxiety is "a feeling of emotional discomfort that stems from an expectation of trouble…. Anxiety is defined both as an emotional state and as a stable property, a trait of personality or temperament" [1]. In R.S. Nemov's definition, "Anxiety is a constant or a situationally manifested property of the individual to go into a state of heightened uneasiness, to have a feeling of dread and alarm in specific situations" [2]. L.A. Kitaev-Smyk points out that "in research on psychology the differentiated definition of two types of anxiety have come to be … in widespread use: ‘the anxiety of character’ and ‘situational anxiety’" [3].
