Popis: | Summary The enhancements in low frequency signal transmission from land vibrators has significantly improved the resolution of full waveform inversion images. In vibroseis acquisition, it is even more critical to transmit repeatable broadband signals and record higher S/N ratio seismic records. To meet these demands and understanding that acquisition is driven by the inherent assumptions of each seismic processing operator, a new generation seismic vibrator (TITAN) has been developed and field tested. This paper describes how this new vibrator achieves the objectives of transmitting a broadband seismic data beginning as low as 1 Hz. These results support the impact of how new vibroseis technology can significantly impact the results of seismic processing. We believe this step change in our new generation vibrator will also lead to a step change in higher resolution seismic processing images. |
