Popis: | Frederick Brian Cookson (“Brian”) was born in Stourbridge and grew up in a family in which there was always music. Brian’s interests and talents were wide in science and the arts, especially poetry, piano, and singing. He chose to study natural sciences at St. John’s College, Cambridge, with clinical years in Birmingham. After qualifying in 1961, his initial jobs were in Birmingham hospitals, and it was here he met and married Hilary, a radiographer. Brian cared passionately about medicine. For a man with such broad interests in science, the humanities, and people, it soon became clear that general practice was the place to be. After working initially in Gloucester as an assistant, he was a partner in a practice in Bicester for four years.
