Nature has published a third of the highest cited GRB papers, as tracked by ADS in May 2008, and those papers are amongst the highest cited astronomy papers in the journal. In the early days after the discovery of counterparts, almost any new observations were interesting. But as the GRB field has matured we are looking to cut back on the numbers of GRB papers published, seeking only the truly novel and groundbreaking ones. The days of groups of papers about a single burst are over ?we now encourage groups to combine their data and submit a single comprehensive paper. As always, I encourage authors to contact me in advance of submission to allow me to assess suitability and advise on presentation. |
