Popis: | Costs in mental hospitals appear to have followed the same rising trend as costs of other health care. However, the traditional measure of cost, the average daily maintenance expenditure, may no longer be appropriate. This study examines cost measures and cost behavior in mental hospitals since the changes of the 1960's. It would appear that increased turnover, when accompanied by quality care and lowered episode costs, may be the key to effective cost containment. |
