Popis:	The advent of electronic endoscopy offered an opportunity for the realization of image management by the computer. An image management system with an analog/digital hybrid system and partial on-line networking was developed by the use of the latest optical disk technology and by extensive use of personal computers. Advances in the technology of digital image recording are occurring rapidly. A passing review is made of the latest technologies relevant to endoscopic image management. We are at the dawn of a new era in image management. New recording devices and media are becoming available. Computer management of endoscopic images will soon be a standard in endoscopic units.
