Popis: | This article discusses an improved method for harmonic estimation when Asynchronous Sampling Condition (ASC) is present. The method is based on previous work on a modified DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) using a compensation of the number of samples. This paper presents the analytical derivation of a new mathematical expression using trapezoidal integration rule and compares the performance of both methods with the MATLAB® built-in fft function. Two study cases are discussed: The first considers the processing of 50 Hz signals from substation automation systems according to IEC 61850 at a fixed sampling rate of 80 samples/period. The second considers the processing of electrical distorted signals in a 60 Hz power grid according to IEC 61000-4-30 with sampling rate of 256 samples/period. The results for both methods exhibit good accuracy. However, the proposed method has a better performance; near to 30 dB for amplitude and phase estimation than previous work. |
