This chapter provides an overview of behavioral problems with which children and adolescents present to a physician. For the purpose of discussion, these problems are grouped into broad categories, for instance, antisocial behaviors, anxiety symptoms, sexuality related problems, and so on. Rather than attempting to provide an exhaustive list of different conditions, some of the more common problems with differential diagnosis are discussed with general remarks and explanation of relevant terminology. The reader is referred to other sections of the book for an in-depth discussion of specific conditions. |
