Popis: Expired metrogyl and norflox TZ are reported as suitable material for biosynthesis of Ag-NPs. Norfloxacin is an antibiotic which belongs to quinolones. While metrogyl belongs to the nitroimidazoles, a drug of choice against various intestinal ailments cause by the different parasites. In this study, effect of various parameters on the synthesis of Ag-NPs using metrogyl and norflox TZ was monitored by UV-visible spectroscopy. The optimized conditions were optimized for Ag-NPs synthesis were pH-9, 0.25M AgNO3, extracted expired medicines and a reactant (AgNO3) ratio, 10:3, total reaction time 45 minutes. The formation of Ag-NPs was affirmed by standard characterization, such as X-ray diffraction method (XRD) and Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). XRD reveals the peak positions and their clear cut broadening, which indicates the size of particles. The antimicrobial activity was visible from the zone of inhibition against P. aeruginosa, B. cereus, E. coli, S. aureus, S. typhimuium, E. aerogenes at different concentration.
